Oh boy! I feel like belting out the Travis Greene song because ……You made a way….Thanks, Father. I was extremely apprehensive about going for my planned long weekend especially as there was a second wave of the coronavirus over most of Europe. So when my colleague told me last Thursday, Germany had recorded their highest spike since late April, my heart fell. Although I prayed, I was really scared as the last thing I wanted was to self-isolate upon arrival back home after a restful weekend…. I guess I would have axed the whole thing if Valentin hadn’t said 'if you don’t come this time, then that’s it'! He knows what makes me tick…..that’s the kick I needed, so with together with prayer, my resolve, face masks, sanitisers etc, I packed my bags. Again,You didn’t disappoint from London to Düsseldorf and back; I had a fantastic weekend – meeting new people, sightseeing Düsseldorf Altstadt; Rhein tower, Oberkassel bridge, Jugendfarm, to name a few. You even had an alternative plan for the things that went wrong….point in case, when I stupidly thought I could charge my phone on the plane (I now know you cannot with EasyJet) so when I opted in getting a chai latte instead of charging my phone at the airport which resulted (in my battery dying…) in my inability to call my friend when I arrived. Somehow I managed to walk in the direction where Valentin and Tina were waiting…Thank you! Everything worked smoothly, like a jigsaw puzzle coming together to create a lovely picture. I try to learn something from every experience I go through ….in this instance its Psalm 34:22 The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
